OMG
OMG
BRO.
THANK YOU ALL for making this pursuit happen. It's one of those things about being a comic book creator, be it a writer or artist or whatever, that you are on your own. A lot. We sit at a desk with our tools at hand and try to make stories, worlds, and characters come alive on a page, and when go out into the world have help get that enthusiasm of the making into the hearts and minds of people reading and that right there is the magic, the Prestige. It's not easy it can be disheartening and well, it can break your gah dam heart.
BUT NOT TODAY!
No today it is such an amazing feeling to know that somehow and in some way you guys dig what I make and we can all love comics. This is not the first time I had this feeling but it is the first to do it on my own. It makes me feel that have something to say something to contribute, and fun we are going to have? Hoo boy.
Thank you to everyone who gave and to many fellow comic creators and lovers who helped get the word out like Martin Pierro, Kevin Joseph, Alex Segura, Erica Schultz, Brandon Graham, Michel Fiffe, Comics Journey, and more for helping make this happen.
Remember people: what gives this art form its wings, isn't ink, or companies, or social media, or none of that. It's us, the people who love comics so much, we are the ones who are clapping and keeping this thing alive. We are the ones throwing down money to see the thing, to read the thing, to watch the thing, and to keep it alive. No matter how big the company is, no matter how big the IP is, if we don't do our thing, it dies. It lives. It's everything. You as a fan have a lot of power and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. If you see a creator out there doing their thing and you dig it? Tell them, and if you can support them, help them. That person will then grow that much more.
Just like I have with this Kickstarter.
Thank you so much and well...
